Our Story
Eric Laine II, owner/designer of Laine Waterscapes has always had a passion for nature. Growing up, he spent much of his childhood in the many creeks and ponds around his house, building dams and waterfalls, catching frogs and crayfish, and seeking peace from the sound of water trickling over rocks. This sparked a passion for the great outdoors and a desire to help others find inner calm from the natural world.
Eric started building small garden ponds at the age of 10, when he buried an old Big Bird kiddie swimming pool into his parents vegetable garden and added tadpoles, salamanders, frogs, and goldfish to it. He has been designing and building water features ever since. Now, Eric specializes in Ecosystem ponds and water features. These mimic the look of nature, while utilizing biological and mechanical filtration systems that are hidden from view and work within a balanced ecosystem to keep water crystal clear.
The types of ponds and water features we design can be everything from a soothing bubbling fountainscape to a crashing pondless stream. A small water garden filled with plants and goldfish to a large koi pond filtered by an intake bay and wetland. Every water feature is a unique, one of a kind, custom creation built to be relatively maintenance free, natural looking, and to provide years of enjoyment in all seasons.
Living with a water feature is a lifestyle. It is a way to slow down and appreciate life more. Watching your fish swim peacefully under the lily pads while listening to a burbling brook and sipping your morning coffee, is a great way to start your day. Sharing a glass of wine with a loved one while watching the sunset reflect off the rippling surface of your pond is an excellent way to end it. Until you have experienced it, it can be hard to explain. We at Laine Waterscapes would love to help you understand this lifestyle and find your inner calm. Let us build the water feature of your dreams. Let the water move you.
